April 5th:

On Saturday, I took a trip to the local 大阪城 Osaka-jo, Osaka castle. I branched out and got to spend some time with the non-Californian international students. Here are some pictures:
We really stuck out traveling as a big gaijin group. Good stuff.

Looks like a clear day, but looks can be deceiving.

Making out way up to the main tower.

Osaka Castle

From these pictures its hard to believe it rained that day.

Some armor that the Tokugawa was believed to wear

This place was burned down and rebuilt a couple times. Its a shame. Here's what it should have looked like at one point.

From the top floor of the castle.

Another view from the top. Note the gold plated fish.
The view from the top was great. Here's another side
Last one. The castle is very integrated into the city. Also, check out all those sakura trees by the river.
To anyone considering visiting, the outside of the castle was more impressive than the inside. There was a cool tea room, some armor, historical paintings, and letters from generals inside. But a LOT of reading and not as much preservation of the old interior as I would have liked.
