After a wild night of clubbing, we woke up (a little hungover) to make our way to the famous M1 Cafe for breakfast. If you ask any Taiwanese person, I think they will recommend this place to you. The food was pretty good.

When we finished the meal, we parted with Maika's friends, and headed out to shop for some sandals. As a background story, my father's old hand-me-down Birkenstocks finally gave out on my and Japan doesn't have my size. If they do, it would be pricier anyhow. We found my size in Taipei and for a reasonable price. It wasn't particularly eventful but there WAS this awesome temple we walked by. Unlike most Japanese, Taipei did not have very many shrines/temples in the city. The picture doesn't do it justice, but the one I did see was pretty intricate.

In the evening it was time to hit up the downtown area again, except this time we would actually walk around city hall and go up Taipei 101. The evening was cool compared to the scorching hot afternoon, and the city lights created an enchanting feeling. We had a lovely dinner on the first floor of Taipei 101, and then walked through city hall. Here are some pics:

The trip up the building featured a very futuristic elevator that makes it up the height of the building at speeds so fast they needed to pressurize the cabin of the elevator so your ears don't pop. Here are the pictures from the top.

As a conclusion. Here is a video of my girlfriend unknowingly being filmed during the elevator ride down. Aside from her cute face, you can see the speed at which the elevator drops by looking at the TV screen. Check it out!
